TU Berlin Large High Voltage Hall

It is nearly impossible to make any statement of value about a high voltage problem without reliable measurement data. Be it as straight forward as a voltage withstand test, or as elaborate and sophisticated as partial discharge measurements, each test setup comes with its own subset of challenges. From generating a sufficient test voltage in the field to distinguishing the actual measurement from noise, every step requires meticulous attention to detail without losing sight of the greater picture.

As data acquisition, transmission and storage systems become capable of handling ever-increasing amounts of data, online measurements on high voltage assets nowadays seem a lot more reasonable than they were just a few decades ago.
